Andy Hay’s Steak Tacos

Ingredients

Steak and Taco Ingredients

  • 1 striploin steakFor the steak marinade:
  • 1 cup Florida Orange Juice
  • 1 cup chopped cilantro
  • ½ cup soy sauce
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 1 inch ginger
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 pepper
  • 1 tbs maple syrup or honey
  • Taco Shells
  • Cilantro

Slaw Ingredients

  • 2 tbs Florida Orange Juice
  • 2 cups shredded cabbage
  • Juice of 1 lime
  • ½ cup cilantro
  • ¼ cup toasted almond slivers
  • Shallot sliced
  • Tsp salt

Instruction

This is a family favourite. Full of flavour thanks to Florida Orange Juice. Make these tacos this week and save the sauce for yummy, dippable goodness.

  1. In a bowl mix together all ingredients for steak marinade. Allow steak to marinate for at least 5 hours or overnight.
  2. In a bowl mix together all ingredients for slaw. Set aside.
  3. Remove steak from marinade and dry. Place onto a cast iron skillet placed over high heat. Cook steak for 4-5 minutes on each side and then remove from the pan.
  4. In the same skillet, reduce heat to medium and pour in marinade. Allow to bubble and reduce for 5-7 minutes. Once thickened, remove from heat and pour into a bowl.
  5. Build tacos. Dip tacos into sauce as desire and enjoy!
