Ingredients

  • 1 Florida Grapefruit, peeled and segmented (or ½ cup freshly squeezed Florida Grapefruit juice)
  • 250 g (about 3 cups) fresh watermelon, cubed
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
  • 60g sliced cucumber (1 baby cucumber)
  • 2–3 fresh mint leaves
  • Pinch of flaky sea salt
  • 1-2 teaspoons maple syrup (optional, to taste)
  • 2 tablespoons Tajín seasoning (optional, for rimming glasses)
  • 4-6 ounces seltzer

Instruction

Step 1

Add the Florida Grapefruit segments (or juice), watermelon, lime juice, cucumber, mint leaves, and a pinch of flaky salt to a blender. Blend until smooth. Adjust sweetness with maple syrup if desired. Strain through a fine-mesh sieve into a large glass or cocktail shaker, pressing gently to extract as much liquid as possible. Discard the solids.

Step 2

Prepare the glasses (optional): Lightly moisten the outer rim of four cocktail glasses with a grapefruit wedge or a small amount of maple syrup. Place the Tajín on a shallow plate and gently dip or roll the outside edge of each glass in the seasoning, keeping the spice on the exterior of the rim. Shake off any excess.

Step 3:

Fill the glasses 3/4 full with crushed ice and divide the Florida Grapefruit watermelon mixture evenly among them. Top with 1 to 2 ounces of seltzer. Garnish with a grapefruit round or wedge. Serve immediately.
