Ingredients

  • 1 Florida Grapefruit, peeled and segmented (or ½ cup freshly squeezed Florida Grapefruit juice)
  • 250 g (about 3 cups) fresh watermelon, cubed
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
  • 60 g sliced cucumber (1 baby cucumber)
  • 2–3 fresh mint leaves
  • Pinch of flaky sea salt
  • 4-6 ounces seltzer
  • 1-2 teaspoons maple syrup (optional, to taste)
  • 2 tablespoons Tajín seasoning (optional, for rimming glasses)

  • Ice cubes

Instruction

  1. Add the Florida Grapefruit segments (or juice), watermelon, lime juice, cucumber, mint leaves, and a pinch of flaky salt to a blender. Blend until smooth. Adjust sweetness with maple syrup if desired. Strain through a fine-mesh sieve into a large glass or cocktail shaker, pressing gently to extract as much liquid as possible. Discard the solids.

  1. Prepare the glasses (optional): Lightly moisten the outer rim of four cocktail glasses with a grapefruit wedge or a small amount of maple syrup. Place the Tajín on a shallow plate and gently dip or roll the outside edge of each glass in the seasoning, keeping the spice on the exterior of the rim. Shake off any excess.

  1. Fill the glasses 3/4 full with crushed ice and divide the Florida Grapefruit watermelon mixture evenly among them. Top with 1 to 2 ounces of seltzer. Garnish with a grapefruit round or wedge. Serve immediately.
