Ingredients
- 4 ounces (120ml) Florida Orange Juice
- ¾ cup fresh strawberries (about 75g or 6 berries), hulled and halved
- 1 tablespoon (12.5g) granulated sugar
- 2 ounces (60ml) lime sparkling water
- Ice
Garnishes
- 1 fresh mint sprig for garnish
- 1 orange wedge for garnish
Instruction
Preparation
- Place the hulled and halved strawberries in the bottom of a tall glass (a 12-16 ounce capacity works best).
- Add the granulated sugar to the strawberries, and use a muddler or the back of a spoon, muddle the strawberries and sugar together very well until the strawberries are completely broken down and juicy, about 30-45 seconds.
- Fill the glass with ice cubes, leaving about 1 inch from the top.
- Pour the fresh orange juice over the ice, allowing it to mix with the muddled strawberries.
- Top with lime sparkling water, pouring slowly to maintain the layered sunrise effect.
- Gently stir once or twice if desired, or leave unstirred for a beautiful layered appearance.
- Garnish with an orange wedge and a fresh mint sprig.
- Serve immediately.
