Macadamia nuts, toasted and chopped<\/li>\r\n<li>1 cup all-purpose flour<\/li>\r\n<li>\u00bd cup whole-wheat flour<\/li>\r\n<li>1\u00a0\u00bd tsp. baking powder<\/li>\r\n<li>1 tbsp. sugar<\/li>\r\n<li>1\/4 tsp. salt<\/li>\r\n<li>1 cup (240 ml) Florida Orange Juice*<\/li>\r\n<li>1 egg<\/li>\r\n<li>1 tbsp. canola oil<\/li>\r\n<li>1 tsp. pure vanilla extract<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p><em>*May substitute Florida Orange Juice from concentrate.<\/em><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p><strong>For Banana Coconut Syrup:<\/strong><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<ul class=\"wp-block-fdoc-recipe-ingredients\">\r\n<li>\u00bd cup (120 ml) Florida Orange Juice<\/li>\r\n<li>2 tbsp. coconut milk<\/li>\r\n<li>\u00bc cup maple syrup<\/li>\r\n<li>1 banana, sliced<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Preparation<\/h2>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<div class=\"wp-block-fdoc-recipe-instructions\">\r\n<div class=\"wp-block-fdoc-recipe-instructions-step\">\r\n<div class=\"wp-block-fdoc-recipe-instructions-step__text\">\r\n<div>\r\n<p>1. Toast Macadamia nuts in a 350 degree oven for 5-8 minutes until golden. Remove, cool and chop.<\/p>\r\n<\/div>\r\n<\/div>\r\n<\/div>\r\n<div class=\"wp-block-fdoc-recipe-instructions-step\">\r\n<div class=\"wp-block-fdoc-recipe-instructions-step__text\">\r\n<div>\r\n<p>2. In a large bowl, combine flours, baking powder, sugar and salt.<\/p>\r\n<\/div>\r\n<\/div>\r\n<\/div>\r\n<div class=\"wp-block-fdoc-recipe-instructions-step\">\r\n<div class=\"wp-block-fdoc-recipe-instructions-step__text\">\r\n<div>\r\n<p>3.\u00a0In a medium bowl combine orange juice, egg, canola oil and vanilla and mix well.<\/p>\r\n<\/div>\r\n<\/div>\r\n<\/div>\r\n<div class=\"wp-block-fdoc-recipe-instructions-step\">\r\n<div class=\"wp-block-fdoc-recipe-instructions-step__text\">\r\n<div>\r\n<p>4.\u00a0Add wet ingredients to dry ingredients and mix until smooth, and stir in Macadamia nuts.<\/p>\r\n<\/div>\r\n<\/div>\r\n<\/div>\r\n<div class=\"wp-block-fdoc-recipe-instructions-step\">\r\n<div class=\"wp-block-fdoc-recipe-instructions-step__text\">\r\n<div>\r\n<p>5. For syrup, simmer to reduce the orange juice by half, then add coconut milk, syrup and sliced banana to the saucepan to warm through.<\/p>\r\n<\/div>\r\n<\/div>\r\n<\/div>\r\n<div class=\"wp-block-fdoc-recipe-instructions-step\">\r\n<div class=\"wp-block-fdoc-recipe-instructions-step__text\">\r\n<div>\r\n<p>6. Heat a waffle iron and lightly coat with nonstick canola oil spray. Portion \u00bd cup batter on warmed waffle iron.<\/p>\r\n<\/div>\r\n<\/div>\r\n<\/div>\r\n<div class=\"wp-block-fdoc-recipe-instructions-step\">\r\n<div class=\"wp-block-fdoc-recipe-instructions-step__text\">\r\n<div>\r\n<p>7.\u00a0Cook until golden brown or until waffle begins to separate from iron. Top with \u00bc cup of banana coconut syrup, and serve immediately.<\/p>\r\n<\/div>\r\n<\/div>\r\n<\/div>\r\n<\/div>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p><strong>Time Saver:\u00a0<\/strong>If you want to prepare this recipe the day before making the waffles, simply mix the wet ingredients in a container and store overnight in your refrigerator. Prepare the dry ingredients separately and store.
