{"id":694,"date":"2018-06-08T10:18:04","date_gmt":"2018-06-08T14:18:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.floridacitrus.ca\/oj\/?post_type=fdoc-recipe&#038;p=694"},"modified":"2024-06-04T10:38:16","modified_gmt":"2024-06-04T14:38:16","slug":"spicy-grilled-shrimp-with-tamarind-orange-chutney","status":"publish","type":"fdoc-recipe","link":"https:\/\/www.floridacitrus.ca\/oj\/recipes\/spicy-grilled-shrimp-with-tamarind-orange-chutney\/","title":{"rendered":"Spicy Grilled Shrimp With Tamarind Orange Chutney"},"content":{"rendered":"\r\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Ingredients<\/h2>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p><strong>For Shrimp:<\/strong><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<ul class=\"wp-block-fdoc-recipe-ingredients\">\r\n<li>1\/2 cup garam masala<\/li>\r\n<li>3 tablespoons coriander<\/li>\r\n<li>2 tablespoons turmeric<\/li>\r\n<li>4 cloves garlic<\/li>\r\n<li>1 (2-inch) piece of ginger, peeled and thinly sliced<\/li>\r\n<li>1 to 2 teaspoons sriracha sauce<\/li>\r\n<li>4 pounds large shrimp, peeled and deveined<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p><strong>For the Chutney:<\/strong><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<ul class=\"wp-block-fdoc-recipe-ingredients\">\r\n<li>16 ounces (475 ml) Florida orange juice<\/li>\r\n<li>16 ounces tamarind pur\u00e9e<\/li>\r\n<li>1 small red onion, thinly sliced<\/li>\r\n<li>2 tablespoons water, ice cold<\/li>\r\n<li>1 tablespoon cornstarch<\/li>\r\n<li>2 Florida oranges, segmented<\/li>\r\n<li>1 tablespoon ground coriander<\/li>\r\n<li>1 tablespoon ground cumin<\/li>\r\n<li>1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated<\/li>\r\n<li>2 tablespoons fresh cilantro, chopped<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Preparation<\/h2>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<div class=\"wp-block-fdoc-recipe-instructions\">\r\n<div class=\"wp-block-fdoc-recipe-instructions-step\">\r\n<div class=\"wp-block-fdoc-recipe-instructions-step__title\">For the Shrimp:<\/div>\r\n<div class=\"wp-block-fdoc-recipe-instructions-step__text\">\r\n<p>Combine garam masala, coriander, turmeric, garlic, ginger and sriracha sauce in food processor; pur\u00e9e until smooth.\u00a0 Rub mixture onto shrimp; marinate for 30 minutes. Grill shrimp and serve with Tamarind Orange Chutney.<\/p>\r\n<\/div>\r\n<\/div>\r\n<div class=\"wp-block-fdoc-recipe-instructions-step\">\r\n<div class=\"wp-block-fdoc-recipe-instructions-step__title\">For the Chutney:<\/div>\r\n<div class=\"wp-block-fdoc-recipe-instructions-step__text\">\r\n<p>Heat\u00a0 orange juice, tamarind pur\u00e9e and red onion in a saucepan over medium heat; bring to a boil.\u00a0 Lower heat; cook until reduced by about one-third.\u00a0 In small bowl, whisk together water and cornstarch until dissolved;\u00a0 whisk in 1 cup hot orange juice mixture; pour cornstarch mixture into saucepan. Add oranges, coriander, cumin, ginger and cilantro to saucepan; stir well and bring to a boil, stirring constantly.
