{"id":679,"date":"2018-06-08T09:56:32","date_gmt":"2018-06-08T13:56:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.floridacitrus.ca\/oj\/?post_type=fdoc-recipe&#038;p=679"},"modified":"2024-06-04T10:48:49","modified_gmt":"2024-06-04T14:48:49","slug":"orange-bbq-chicken-flatbread-pizza","status":"publish","type":"fdoc-recipe","link":"https:\/\/www.floridacitrus.ca\/oj\/recipes\/orange-bbq-chicken-flatbread-pizza\/","title":{"rendered":"Orange BBQ Chicken Flatbread Pizza"},"content":{"rendered":"\r\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Ingredients<\/h2>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<ul class=\"wp-block-fdoc-recipe-ingredients\">\r\n<li>2 cups (480 ml) Florida orange juice, divided<\/li>\r\n<li>3 tablespoons olive oil, divided<\/li>\r\n<li>3 garlic cloves, minced, divided<\/li>\r\n<li>Salt<\/li>\r\n<li>Pepper<\/li>\r\n<li>2 skinless, boneless chicken breasts<\/li>\r\n<li>1\/2 cup yellow onion, finely diced<\/li>\r\n<li>2 cups barbecue sauce<\/li>\r\n<li>8 ounces uncooked prepared pizza dough<\/li>\r\n<li>All-purpose flour<\/li>\r\n<li>1 cup Monterey jack cheese, shredded<\/li>\r\n<li>\u00bd cup sour cream<\/li>\r\n<li>\u00bd cup cilantro, chopped<\/li>\r\n<li>2 green onions, thinly sliced<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Preparation<\/h2>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<div class=\"wp-block-fdoc-recipe-instructions\">\r\n<div class=\"wp-block-fdoc-recipe-instructions-step\">\r\n<div class=\"wp-block-fdoc-recipe-instructions-step__text\">\r\n<div>\r\n<p>In large zipper-seal plastic bag, place 1 cup orange juice, 2 tablespoons olive oil, one-half minced garlic and a dash of salt and pepper. Seal tightly; shake to combine ingredients. Add chicken; seal tightly and marinate refrigerator for 15 to 20 minutes. Remove chicken from marinade; discard marinade. Grill chicken until fully cooked; cool. Cut chicken into thin strips; reserve.<\/p>\r\n<\/div>\r\n<\/div>\r\n<\/div>\r\n<div class=\"wp-block-fdoc-recipe-instructions-step\">\r\n<div class=\"wp-block-fdoc-recipe-instructions-step__text\">\r\n<div>\r\n<p>In small saucepan, heat remaining 1 tablespoon olive oil over medium-high heat. Add onions; saut\u00e9 until soft. Add remaining one-half minced garlic and 1 cup orange juice; simmer for 3 to 4 minutes. Whisk in barbecue sauce and simmer for 5 minutes; remove from heat and cool.<\/p>\r\n<\/div>\r\n<\/div>\r\n<\/div>\r\n<div class=\"wp-block-fdoc-recipe-instructions-step\">\r\n<div class=\"wp-block-fdoc-recipe-instructions-step__text\">\r\n<div>\r\n<p>Preheat oven to 425\u00b0 F. Grease two baking sheets.\u00a0 Dust counter with flour. Divide pizza dough in half. Use a rolling pin to roll out one-half of dough into rectangular shape approximately 1\/8-inch thick. Gently place dough onto baking sheet; repeat with remaining one-half dough. Bake sheets of flatbread dough for 5 to 8 minutes; flip over with spatula or tongs and bake additional 5 to 8 minutes. Spread about \u00be-cup barbecue sauce onto each flatbread. Divide chicken strips and cheese among two flatbreads; return to oven and bake for 15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the crust is golden. Remove flatbreads from oven and place on cutting board; cool for about 4 to 6 minutes.
