{"id":672,"date":"2018-06-08T09:50:45","date_gmt":"2018-06-08T13:50:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.floridacitrus.ca\/oj\/?post_type=fdoc-recipe&#038;p=672"},"modified":"2024-06-14T12:39:17","modified_gmt":"2024-06-14T16:39:17","slug":"florida-citrus-cuban-tacos","status":"publish","type":"fdoc-recipe","link":"https:\/\/www.floridacitrus.ca\/oj\/recipes\/florida-citrus-cuban-tacos\/","title":{"rendered":"Florida Citrus Cuban Tacos"},"content":{"rendered":"\r\n<div class=\"wp-block-buttons alignright is-layout-flex wp-block-buttons-is-layout-flex\">\r\n<div class=\"wp-block-button\"><a class=\"wp-block-button__link\" href=\"https:\/\/intl-floridacitrus.pantheonsite.io\/www-floridacitrus-quebec\/\/oj\/recipes\/tacos-cubains-aux-agrumes-de-la-floride\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">French<\/a><\/div>\r\n<\/div>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Ingredients<\/h2>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p><strong>For Pork:<\/strong><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<ul class=\"wp-block-fdoc-recipe-ingredients\">\r\n<li>2 cups (480 ml) Florida Orange Juice<\/li>\r\n<li>1 cup (240 ml) Florida grapefruit juice<\/li>\r\n<li>2 tbsp.\u00a0Florida orange zest<\/li>\r\n<li>1 cup soy sauce<\/li>\r\n<li>\u00bd cup Triple sec<\/li>\r\n<li>\u00bc cup brown sugar<\/li>\r\n<li>6 garlic cloves, coarsely chopped<\/li>\r\n<li>4 stalks fresh oregano, coarsely chopped<\/li>\r\n<li>4 lbs. boneless pork shoulder<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p><strong>For Sour Orange Sauce:<\/strong><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<ul class=\"wp-block-fdoc-recipe-ingredients\">\r\n<li>\u00be cup (180 ml) Florida Orange Juice<\/li>\r\n<li>\u00bc cup (60 ml) lime juice<\/li>\r\n<li>\u00bd cup fresh cilantro, minced<\/li>\r\n<li>1 tsp. sugar<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p><strong>For Coleslaw:<\/strong><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<ul class=\"wp-block-fdoc-recipe-ingredients\">\r\n<li>1 cup (240 ml) Florida orange segments, finely chopped<\/li>\r\n<li>2 cups shredded coleslaw mix<\/li>\r\n<li>\u00bc cup cilantro, finely chopped<\/li>\r\n<li>salt, to taste<\/li>\r\n<li>pepper, to taste<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p><strong>For Tacos:<\/strong><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<ul class=\"wp-block-fdoc-recipe-ingredients\">\r\n<li>Florida Orange peel strips, if desired<\/li>\r\n<li>18 (4-inch) flour tortillas<\/li>\r\n<li>Cilantro sprigs, if desired<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Preparation<\/h2>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<div class=\"wp-block-fdoc-recipe-instructions\">\r\n<div class=\"wp-block-fdoc-recipe-instructions-step\">\r\n<div class=\"wp-block-fdoc-recipe-instructions-step__title\">Prepare Pork:<\/div>\r\n<div class=\"wp-block-fdoc-recipe-instructions-step__text\">\r\n<div>\r\n<p>Combine all ingredients except pork shoulder in large mixing bowl. Remove 1\/3 cup Florida Orange Juice mixture for sauce; refrigerate in covered container and reserve. Place pork shoulder in mixing bowl with Florida Orange Juice mixture, pushing down into liquid so it is submerged. Cover tightly with plastic wrap; refrigerate 2 days. Preheat oven to 400\u00b0 F.\u00a0 Remove pork shoulder from marinade; discard marinade. Place pork in roasting pan. Cover with aluminum foil. Cook in oven for 45 minutes, uncover and cook 10 more minutes until internal temperature reaches 145\u00b0 F. Cool for 20 minutes.<\/p>\r\n<\/div>\r\n<\/div>\r\n<\/div>\r\n<div class=\"wp-block-fdoc-recipe-instructions-step\">\r\n<div class=\"wp-block-fdoc-recipe-instructions-step__text\">\r\n<div>\r\n<p>Combine reserved refrigerated marinade mixture with remaining ingredients; stir to combine. Shred pork and toss with Sour Orange Sauce. Use 1 1\/4 lbs. prepared pork to assemble tacos; reserve remaining pork for more tacos.<\/p>\r\n<\/div>\r\n<\/div>\r\n<\/div>\r\n<div class=\"wp-block-fdoc-recipe-instructions-step\">\r\n<div class=\"wp-block-fdoc-recipe-instructions-step__text\">\r\n<div>\r\n<p>\u00a0Combine coleslaw mix, Florida Orange Segments and cilantro in mixing bowl; season with salt and pepper to taste and reserve. Heat grill or grill pan to medium-high heat. Grill tortillas for 20 seconds to heat through; keep warm. To assemble tacos, divide shredded pork among tortillas. Top with coleslaw mixture. Fold up tortillas; garnish with orange peel and cilantro sprigs, if desired.
