{"id":422,"date":"2018-06-06T14:20:36","date_gmt":"2018-06-06T18:20:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.floridacitrus.ca\/oj\/?post_type=fdoc-recipe&#038;p=422"},"modified":"2024-06-04T13:30:37","modified_gmt":"2024-06-04T17:30:37","slug":"grilled-fish-tacos-with-orange-cilantro-slaw","status":"publish","type":"fdoc-recipe","link":"https:\/\/www.floridacitrus.ca\/oj\/recipes\/grilled-fish-tacos-with-orange-cilantro-slaw\/","title":{"rendered":"Grilled Fish Tacos With Orange Cilantro Slaw"},"content":{"rendered":"\r\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Ingredients<\/h2>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p><strong>For the Fish:<\/strong><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<ul class=\"wp-block-fdoc-recipe-ingredients\">\r\n<li>1 \u00bd pounds Mahi-Mahi or other firm white fish<\/li>\r\n<li>\u00bd cup canola oil<\/li>\r\n<li>1 cup (240 ml) Florida orange juice<\/li>\r\n<li>1 teaspoon dried oregano<\/li>\r\n<li>\u00bc teaspoon cayenne pepper<\/li>\r\n<li>1 teaspoon finely minced garlic<\/li>\r\n<li>Salt and pepper to taste<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p><strong>For the Slaw:<\/strong><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<ul class=\"wp-block-fdoc-recipe-ingredients\">\r\n<li>\u00bc cup chopped cilantro<\/li>\r\n<li>4 cup finely shredded cabbage<\/li>\r\n<li>1 cup diced oranges<\/li>\r\n<li>\u00bd cup diced red onion<\/li>\r\n<li>\u00bd cup diced tomato<\/li>\r\n<li>\u00bd cup diced red bell pepper<\/li>\r\n<li>1 small\u00a0jalapeno, seeded and minced<\/li>\r\n<li>\u2153 cup marinade (above)<\/li>\r\n<li>Salt and pepper to taste<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p><strong>For the Tacos:<\/strong><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<ul class=\"wp-block-fdoc-recipe-ingredients\">\r\n<li>24 corn tortillas<\/li>\r\n<li>Slaw mixture (above)<\/li>\r\n<li>Plain Greek yogurt for garnish, optional<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Preparation<\/h2>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<div class=\"wp-block-fdoc-recipe-instructions\">\r\n<div class=\"wp-block-fdoc-recipe-instructions-step\">\r\n<div class=\"wp-block-fdoc-recipe-instructions-step__title\">For the Fish:<\/div>\r\n<div class=\"wp-block-fdoc-recipe-instructions-step__text\">\r\n<div>\r\n<p>In a large bowl, whisk together oil, orange juice, oregano, cayenne, garlic, salt and pepper. Reserve \u2153 cup of the marinade for the slaw. Put fish in a zip top bag and pour half the marinade over the fish.\u00a0 Seal bag and marinate at room temperature for 15 minutes.<\/p>\r\n<\/div>\r\n<\/div>\r\n<\/div>\r\n<div class=\"wp-block-fdoc-recipe-instructions-step\">\r\n<div class=\"wp-block-fdoc-recipe-instructions-step__title\">For the Slaw:<\/div>\r\n<div class=\"wp-block-fdoc-recipe-instructions-step__text\">\r\n<div>\r\n<p>In a large bowl, add marinade, cilantro, cabbage, oranges, red onion, tomato, red bell pepper, jalapeno, salt and pepper. Toss well to coat and set aside to allow flavors to blend.<\/p>\r\n<\/div>\r\n<\/div>\r\n<\/div>\r\n<div class=\"wp-block-fdoc-recipe-instructions-step\">\r\n<div class=\"wp-block-fdoc-recipe-instructions-step__title\">For the Tacos:<\/div>\r\n<div class=\"wp-block-fdoc-recipe-instructions-step__text\">\r\n<div>\r\n<p>Heat a grill or grill pan to medium-high heat.\u00a0 Remove fish from marinade and discard marinade; grill about 5 minutes or just until done. Do not overcook fish.\u00a0 Remove fish from grill and flake with a fork.\u00a0Place tortillas on the grill for 20 seconds to heat them up. For each taco, place fish, into 2 tortillas and top with slaw.
