It\u2019s the perfect addition to any backyard cookout.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">For the sauce:<\/h2>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\r\n<li>2 tablespoons (30 ml) Florida Orange Juice<\/li>\r\n<li>1\/4 cup brown mustard<\/li>\r\n<li>2 tablespoons prepared horseradish<\/li>\r\n<li>2 tablespoons mayonnaise<\/li>\r\n<li>1 clove garlic, grated<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">For the burgers:<\/h2>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<ul class=\"wp-block-fdoc-recipe-ingredients\">\r\n<li>2 1\/2 cups (600ml) Florida Orange Juice, divided<\/li>\r\n<li>1\/2 cup water<\/li>\r\n<li>1\/2 cup wild rice<\/li>\r\n<li>1 large sweet potato, peeled and cubed<\/li>\r\n<li>1 can chickpeas, drained and rinsed<\/li>\r\n<li>1\/2 cup panko breadcrumbs<\/li>\r\n<li>1 teaspoon salt<\/li>\r\n<li>1 teaspoon ground cumin<\/li>\r\n<li>1\/2 teaspoon garlic powder<\/li>\r\n<li>1\/2 teaspoon coriander<\/li>\r\n<li>2 tablespoons grapeseed oil, divided<\/li>\r\n<li>Arugula, for garnish<\/li>\r\n<li>Red onion, for garnish<\/li>\r\n<li>6 whole-wheat buns, thin sandwich slices or hearty lettuce leaves<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Preparation<\/h2>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<table class=\"wp-block-fdoc-recipe-time\">\r\n<tbody>\r\n<tr>\r\n<th>Prep Time<\/th>\r\n<th>Cook Time<\/th>\r\n<th>Total Time<\/th>\r\n<\/tr>\r\n<tr>\r\n<td class=\"wp-block-fdoc-recipe-time__prep-time\">40 minutes<\/td>\r\n<td class=\"wp-block-fdoc-recipe-time__cook-time\">20 minutes<\/td>\r\n<td class=\"wp-block-fdoc-recipe-time__total-time\">1 hour<\/td>\r\n<\/tr>\r\n<\/tbody>\r\n<\/table>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p><strong>To make the sauce:<\/strong><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Place the orange juice, mustard, horseradish, mayonnaise and garlic in a small bowl and whisk to combine. Cover and refrigerate until ready to use.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p><strong>To make the burgers:<\/strong><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Heat the oven to 400 degrees F.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Place 2 cups of the orange juice and water in a small saucepan, set over high heat and bring to a boil. Add the rice, cover and reduce the heat to maintain a bare simmer. Cook until the rice is tender, 55 to 60 minutes.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>In the meantime, place the sweet potatoes, chickpeas and remaining 1\/2 cup orange juice in a small baking dish. Cover and roast until sweet potatoes are tender, 35 to 40 minutes.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Transfer the potatoes and chickpeas to a food processor and process until somewhat, but not completely smooth. Transfer the mixture to a large mixing bowl and add the rice, breadcrumbs, salt, cumin, garlic powder and coriander. Stir to combine. Cover and refrigerate for 1 hour. Shape the mixture into 6 patties.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Place 1 tablespoon of grapeseed oil in a large saut\u00e9 pan, set over medium heat and when the oil shimmers, add the patties. Cook for 4 to 5 minutes or until browned. Add the remaining tablespoon of oil to the pan and carefully flip the patties. Continue cooking until heated through and browned, about 3 minutes.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Serve burgers topped with sauce and garnished with arugula and onion.<\/p>\r\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Craving a burger?
