{"id":126,"date":"2018-06-04T11:12:22","date_gmt":"2018-06-04T15:12:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.floridacitrus.ca\/oj\/?post_type=fdoc-recipe&#038;p=126"},"modified":"2024-06-05T06:23:34","modified_gmt":"2024-06-05T10:23:34","slug":"citrus-skirt-steak-fajitas","status":"publish","type":"fdoc-recipe","link":"https:\/\/www.floridacitrus.ca\/oj\/recipes\/citrus-skirt-steak-fajitas\/","title":{"rendered":"Citrus Skirt Steak Fajitas"},"content":{"rendered":"\r\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Ingredients<\/h2>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<ul class=\"wp-block-fdoc-recipe-ingredients\">\r\n<li>1 cup (240 ml) 100% Florida orange juice<\/li>\r\n<li>1 Florida orange, peeled and diced<\/li>\r\n<li>\u00be cup chopped cilantro<\/li>\r\n<li>1 to 2 jalapeno peppers, seeded and minced<\/li>\r\n<li>2 cloves garlic, minced<\/li>\r\n<li>\u00bd teaspoon orange zest<\/li>\r\n<li>\u00bd teaspoon coarse salt<\/li>\r\n<li>\u00bd teaspoon black pepper<\/li>\r\n<li>1\u00bd pounds beef skirt or flap steak<\/li>\r\n<li>\u00bd cup thinly sliced red onion<\/li>\r\n<li>\u00bd cup sliced green bell pepper<\/li>\r\n<li>\u00bd cup sliced red bell pepper<\/li>\r\n<li>8 corn tortillas, warmed<\/li>\r\n<li>\u00bd cup shredded cheddar cheese<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Preparation<\/h2>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<div class=\"wp-block-fdoc-recipe-instructions\">\r\n<div class=\"wp-block-fdoc-recipe-instructions-step\">\r\n<div class=\"wp-block-fdoc-recipe-instructions-step__text\">\r\n<div>\r\n<p>1. In large 1-gallon resealable plastic bag, combine orange juice, orange, cilantro, jalapeno pepper, garlic, orange zest, salt and pepper.<\/p>\r\n<p><br \/>2. Seal bag and squeeze to mix ingredients thoroughly. Add skirt steak; squeeze out air and seal bag tightly; refrigerate and marinate steak for at least 30 minutes or overnight for best flavor.<\/p>\r\n<p><br \/>3. Remove steak; discard marinade. Grill steak over medium heat until medium rare; remove from heat and let rest.<\/p>\r\n<p><br \/>4. While steak is grilling, saut\u00e9 onion, green bell pepper and red bell pepper in nonstick skillet until tender.<\/p>\r\n<p><br \/>5. Slice steak across grain into thin strips.
