{"id":86,"date":"2018-05-26T15:34:19","date_gmt":"2018-05-26T19:34:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.floridacitrus.ca\/grapefruit\/?post_type=fdoc-recipe&#038;p=86"},"modified":"2024-06-15T12:25:00","modified_gmt":"2024-06-15T16:25:00","slug":"florida-grapefruit-bruschetta","status":"publish","type":"fdoc-recipe","link":"https:\/\/www.floridacitrus.ca\/grapefruit\/recipes\/florida-grapefruit-bruschetta\/","title":{"rendered":"Florida Grapefruit Bruschetta"},"content":{"rendered":"\r\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Ingredients<\/h2>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<ul class=\"wp-block-fdoc-recipe-ingredients\">\r\n<li>Two Florida Grapefruits<\/li>\r\n<li>One clove of garlic, minced<\/li>\r\n<li>3 basil leaves, chopped<\/li>\r\n<li>One Roma tomato, chopped<\/li>\r\n<li>1 tbsp. white balsamic vinegar<\/li>\r\n<li>1 tbsp. extra virgin olive oil<\/li>\r\n<li>\u00bc tsp. salt<\/li>\r\n<li>Pinch of fresh ground pepper<\/li>\r\n<li>1 French baguette, sliced<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Preparation<\/h2>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<div class=\"wp-block-fdoc-recipe-instructions\">\r\n<div class=\"wp-block-fdoc-recipe-instructions-step\">\r\n<div class=\"wp-block-fdoc-recipe-instructions-step__text\">\r\n<div>\r\n<p><br \/>1.\u00a0Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.<br \/>2.\u00a0Mince one clove of garlic and add to a large mixing bowl.<br \/>3.\u00a0Roll basil leaves together and cut into thin strips to achieve a chiffonade cut, then add to mixing bowl.<br \/>4.\u00a0Zest Florida Grapefruit until you have about half a teaspoon of zest and add to mixing bowl.<br \/>5. After zesting, remove the peels and piths of the Florida Grapefruits and segment the flesh, separating it from the membrane.<br \/>6.\u00a0Roughly chop the Florida Grapefruit segments, draining off excess juice before adding to the mixing bowl.<br \/>7.\u00a0Add chopped tomato, white balsamic vinegar, extra virgin olive oil, salt and pepper to mixing bowl.<br \/>8. Mix well.<br \/>9.\u00a0Slice French baguette into discs, placing them on a baking sheet before brushing with olive oil.<br \/>10.\u00a0Toast baguette slices in oven for about 8 minutes or until golden brown.<br \/>11. Spoon Florida Grapefruit bruschetta mixture over crostini and place on a serving dish.<br \/>12.
