{"id":1451,"date":"2022-10-19T18:15:44","date_gmt":"2022-10-19T22:15:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.floridacitrus.ca\/grapefruit\/?post_type=fdoc-recipe&#038;p=1451"},"modified":"2024-06-05T09:18:17","modified_gmt":"2024-06-05T13:18:17","slug":"prawns-glazed-in-florida-grapefruit-chili-and-lemongrass","status":"publish","type":"fdoc-recipe","link":"https:\/\/www.floridacitrus.ca\/grapefruit\/recipes\/prawns-glazed-in-florida-grapefruit-chili-and-lemongrass\/","title":{"rendered":"Prawns Glazed in Florida Grapefruit, Chili, and Lemongrass"},"content":{"rendered":"\r\n<p>Inspiration from Thai cuisine, enjoy flavours of chili, lemongrass and peanuts in thus scrumptious prawn dish.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Ingredients<\/h2>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<ul class=\"wp-block-fdoc-recipe-ingredients\">\r\n<li>3 Florida Grapefruit<\/li>\r\n<li>2 red onions<\/li>\r\n<li>80g salted peanuts<\/li>\r\n<li>1 handful fresh mint<\/li>\r\n<li>2 tbsp olive oil<\/li>\r\n<li>1 red chili<\/li>\r\n<li>2 lemongrass<\/li>\r\n<li>2 tbsp vegetable oil<\/li>\r\n<li>100ml soft brown sugar<\/li>\r\n<li>350g large prawns (shells and tails removed)<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Preparation<\/h2>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Slice the red onions as thinly as possible; then, scatter onto a serving plate with the juice of 1 Florida Grapefruit.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>2. Sprinkle the peanuts and fresh mint over the onions along with a drizzle of olive oil; put to one side while you cook the prawns.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>3. Chop the red chilli and lemongrass before adding to a pre-heated frying pan with a splash of vegetable oil.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>4. Cook the spices for 2 minutes to bring the flavours together; then, add in the sugar and juice of the remaining Florida Grapefruit.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>5. Boil the mix together until the sugar dissolves and creates a syrup.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>6. Add the prawns and cook for a further 3-4 minutes or until the prawns turn pink.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>7.
